Mike Manchester
Originally from Denver, Colorado Mike has lived in Italy for 20 years where he has had a key role in developing an independent study abroad program for foreign students. It was through the program SIS Intercultural Study Abroad in Siena, Italy where he made a lifelong friendship with Antonella Filippone, professor of Italian language and Art History.
Despite the constant exposure in Italy, Mike has somehow managed to acquire a very limited grasp on what makes Italy's artistic treasures so special. It's not that he's not curious. He just focuses on other passions like food, being outdoors, and engaging students with the local community. Frankly he feels embarrassed by this lack of knowledge and feels that it's time to change that.
With this podcast Mike hopes to learn more about art and in doing so, share some insights about Italian culture and art with listeners.
